Code Of Conduct

Our code of conduct is in place to ensure the safety and security of all our members. Please ensure you are familiar with our Terms & Conditions so as to allow growth of yourself and all those on the same Martial Arts journey.

1. Respect Yourself

Hold yourself to a high standard. Maintain good discipline, show good manners and high standards of behaviour. Be sure to know the school etiquette and do not accept anything less of yourself. Arrive on time (this means early), have good personal hygiene, be in a fully fit and ready state to train and have your mind in gear. Remember your here to learn, so leave ego at the door and allow yourself to be a student.

2. Respect others

Show proper respect to teachers and students alike. Be respectful of all those around you, and considerate of their needs. We have a zero tolerance for bullying, repeated inconsiderate behaviour, excessive contact, antisocial behaviour, drugs and alcohol. Treat others as you would have them treat you. Everyone is on their own journey, but right now, you are traveling together, help each other along the way.

3. Respect the School

This is both the physical location and the spirit of the school which is a representative of the Art of Wing Tsun itself. Bow when you enter and leave the class, keep the area clean and tidy. Treat the environment as you would have a guest treat your own home. Be mindfull of the hard work and sacrifices made by those who came before you, which allow the school to exist. Do not dishonour the uniform.

4. Have an Open Mind

Statements close the mind; questions open the mind. Ask the teacher questions, ask others, ask yourself. Explore the art and look to understand it and others a little more each day. “You cannot add to a cup that is already full” - So empty your cup, be a humble student and a sponge for learning.

5. Enjoy The Process

It’s not going to be an easy ride, but it should be a fun one. No-one will continue to do anything unless they enjoy it, so have fun when training, while staying true to the code. Don’t take yourself too seriously, stay humble and laugh at the stumbles, trips, the falls and especially the fails. We bow before we enter the room, so drop ego on that spot and leave it there - feel free to stomp on it when you leave too!
